EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
We are currently looking for 5 experienced Cabinetmakers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience working with metal and custom wood cabinets/furniture manufacturing. Bring your professional portfolio if you want to se us your work!
As part of your position, you are expected to perform the following duties:
- Conduct area measurements and labour and cost estimations for the cabinets to be designed and manufactured,
- Read and interpret imported cabinets drawings and prepare corresponding specifications,
- Trim joints and fitting wooden and metal cabinets/furniture parts together,
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish for finish,
- Prepare layouts for wood and metal articles and create samples and prototypes,
- Operate hand saws and other woodworking power and hand tools,
- Repair, refinish and paint cabinets with specific colours,
- Create authentic, classic and modern cabinets looks, etc.,
- Establish templates, jigs and fixtures for production of cabinets and other products,
- Select and cut vinyl to form parts of wood products,
- Instruct and lead apprentices, trainees and volunteers, when necessary,
- Maintain clean and safe work environment as per safety procedures,
- Clean work area after the shift and log all weekly job activities,
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years of experience working with metal and custom wood cabinets/furniture manufacturing/ carpentry (in a similar position),
- Knowledge and ability to use woodworking machines and cabinets/furniture manufacturing tools,
- Proven experience working in tight spaces;
- Good English language skills (written and oral)
- Familiarity with workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures
- Secondary school diploma
COMPENSATION:
- Permanent, full-time position;
- $24.50 per hour for 35 hours every week;
- Occasional overtime may be required with applicable overtime pay after 44 hours of work per week
- Location of work: Client sites across GTA
