Position:                     Shift Supervisor

Duration:                   Full Time

Location:                    945 Gardiners Rd, Kingston, ON K7M 7H4

Offered Salary:          $16.52 per hour. The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.

Vacation:                   4% of the gross salary

Hours of Work:         35.0-44.0 hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

• Responsible for restaurant operations (food preparation, customer service, inventory) during the assigned shifts.
• Supervise food preparation to ensure that food safety and operations standards are maintained.
• Provide direction to Team Members concisely.
• Perform paperwork duties and assist with product orders and inventory as needed.
• Set an example for Team Members by working hard to implement shift plan and ensure swift and smooth production.
• Delegate in a way that encourages teamwork during the shift to ensure that the restaurant operations comply with company standards.
• Work with team to act on guest feedback and resolve complaints in a timely, friendly and professional manner.
• Takes initiative to immediately report violations of safety, sanitation, security and other company policies to restaurant management and perform short-term solutions.
• Complete checklists and procedures for cash reporting, inventory control, and scheduling during the shift.
• Prompt and regular attendance on assigned shifts.

Specific Job Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• 7-12 months experience in food preparation or service is required. Supervisory experience to be considered as an asset.
• Requires effective communication skills, ability to deal with customers and food service employees.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires standing and walking the entire workday.
