Salary: | $20.00-$21.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP. |
Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
Hours of Work: | 35.0-44.0 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Assisting the manager with hiring, recruiting, oversee training, and terminating employees.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and conduct and record regular performance reviews.
- Assists the Restaurant Manager in building the restaurants’ “bench strength” by identifying and developing high potential employees for progression to the next level.
- Communicate with all shifts on day-to-day operations and critical areas of focus.
- Assist with establishing and enforcing proper security procedures to reduce team member theft and ensure team member and guest safety.
- Responsible for daily cash procedures and assist with financial reporting.
- Display knowledge of and works in compliance with applicable legislation including, food safety, health and safety, and employment standards.
- Enforce and comply with pre-established Tim Hortons operating procedures.
- Ensure high standards of guest experience are maintained.
- Resolve guest complaints and turn potentially negative situations into positive ones.
- Assist Manager in running company-wide incentive programs.
- Manage team member scheduling to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
- Work in compliance with the occupational health and safety legislation.
- Respond to and correct unsafe acts and conditions.
- Enforce employee compliance in regard to the restaurant’s health and safety policies and procedures.
- Initiate performance counseling and takes disciplinary actions for non-compliance in matters related to health and safety.
Specific Job Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience is required.
- Completion of secondary school is required. College level diploma related to hospitality or business management is desired.
- Requires excellent communication skills in English Language with an ability to deal with all levels of employees and customers.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.
