We are currently looking for 25 Material Handlers to join our team. Everyone is welcome to apply even those without prior experience! We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals for the positions. The successful candidates will be provided on-the-job training with lots of room to grow!

What You’ll do:

  • Remove the panel from the skid and inspect for any crack along the edge.
  • If the edge is cracked, reject the panel.
  • If no defect is found, place the panel on the workbench with the ply facing upwards.
  • Remove the 16-rivet holding the ply by either drilling or chiseling the head of the rivet.
  • Once all the rivets are removed, hole the panel vertically.
  • Knock off the damaged ply using a hand mallet.
  • Inspect the frame again for any crack along the corner;
  • If there is a visible crack, place it on a skid to ship it to the welding vendor once the skid is full.
  • If the frame is free of crack, proceed to the next step – cleaning.
  • Grinding tool with a wire brush wheel should be used to clean all the cement along the frame of the panel.
  • Inspect the inside and if any silicone is present, use the same tool to remove the debris.
  • Check the frame for a bend and use the mallet to straighten the bend.
  • Use a test ply to see if the fit is perfect inside the frame.
  • Place the brand new ply inside the frame.
  • Use the template to locate the 16 holes for the new rivet
  • Use an electric drill to drill the holes at the marked locations
  • Place the rivets inside the holes
  • Using a rivet gun, secure the rivets in place.
  • Clean the ply for any debris to prep it for silicone application
  • With a steady hand movement, apply silicone using the gun on all four sides to cover the gap between the frame and the ply.
  • Use a spatula to smooth out and remove any excess silicone.
  • Inspect the silicone bead to make sure its continuous and free of voids

 

What we need:

  • No previous experience needed – we will provide training
  • Able to multi-task, learn and apply new information quickly;
  • Comfortable with variable workloads;
  • Able to work in an environment which is subject to constant review and requires efficient use of time to maintain production schedules;
  • Able to take direction or work independently, and exercise judgement where supervision may be minimal;
  • Good English language skills (written and oral)
  • Familiarity with workplace safety, safe lifting, and handling procedures
  • No education requirement

 

Working Conditions:

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week for $18.00, overtime rate may apply after 44 hours of work per week;
  • This is a full time, hourly position with our head office at 5915 Airport Road, Suite 820, Mississauga, ON L4V 1T1
  • Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., occasional over-time is required to meet deadlines
  • Able to work with many different teams
