We are currently looking for 5 full-time Nurse Aides to join our growing family. Our team provides utmost personal care to our residents and their families.
As Nurse Aide, your duties would include but not limited to:
- Provides direct personal care to residents, ensuring that the residents’ activities of daily living needs are met (e.g., personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, bathing, nail care, dressing and grooming).
- Assisting with dining services (e.g., meals, nourishment, and tray service, assists residents to eat as needed).
- Assists in transferring residents in/out of bed, to/from wheelchair, toilet, and chair using one or two person transfers or mechanical lifts as per the residents’ care plan;
- Cleans and stores equipment such as wheelchairs and stretchers and reports any mechanical failure;
- Assists in performing routine health-related duties, if needed, which may include taking residents’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, under the direction of the RN;
- Assists in changing of non-sterile dressings, collecting specimens such as urine, faeces or sputum, under the general supervision of the RN;
- Observes and reports any changes in resident’s functional and cognitive behaviour to the RN;
- Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly;
- Encourages and accompanies residents’ participation in exercises, social and recreational activities;
- Checks and restocks supplies such as personal care supplies, nursing and housekeeping/laundry supplies, and assists in taking inventory;
- Performs routine housekeeping duties such as making beds and tiding residents’ common areas;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidates for our team will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required – on the job training will be provided;
- At least 7 months of experience in the field or in a similar healthcare related role, would be an asset;
- A personal support worker, nursing aide or health care aide college or private institutional program, or a college nursing orderly program and supervised practical training, would be an asset;
- First Aid Certificate would be an asset;
- Knowledge and experience in elderly care planning systems and documentation required,
- Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents, and families,
- Good English Language skills

- Hourly rate of $21.70 full-time hours: 40 hours/week
