What we are looking for

We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Buyer to join our team for a full-time position.

Job Duties:

• Assist the Chief Buyer in sourcing and purchasing tires for resale in both retail and wholesale sectors;
• Collaborate with the procurement team to assess the establishment’s requirements and determine the optimal quantity and types of tires needed;
• Stay updated on industry trends by analyzing market reports, trade publications, and attending relevant trade shows, showrooms, and product design events;
• Support in selecting tires that meet the establishment’s specifications and requirements;
• Aid in conducting supplier interviews and assist in negotiating prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements;
• Assist in overseeing the distribution of tires to outlets and contribute to maintaining adequate stock levels to meet demand;
• Help establish and maintain effective communication channels with suppliers to ensure smooth procurement processes;

Required Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

• Completion of secondary of school is required – any professional training in business/marketing would be a great asset;
• At least 3-6 months of experience working as an associate in a retail or wholesale establishment;
• Excellent experience working with both local and international suppliers,
• Good English language skills – other languages will be considered as an asset;

Terms of Employment:

• Full-time, permanent job;
• Remuneration: $55,000.00 per annum, minimum of 35 hours per week;
• Overtime rate will apply after 44 hours of work per week;
• Location of work: 1600 Bayly Street, Unit #4, Pickering, ON, L1W 3N2;
