| Salary: | $18.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP. |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 35.0-40.0 Hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of hair services, including cutting, trimming, tapering, curling, waving, perming, and styling.
- Apply hair treatments like bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to achieve coloring effects such as coloring, frosting, or streaking.
- Style hair using various techniques such as blow-drying, curling, straightening, and updos for special occasions. Ensure that the final result meets the client’s expectations.
- Offer hair treatments such as deep conditioning, hair masks, and scalp massages to improve hair health and address specific issues like dryness or damage.
- Apply hair extensions to enhance or lengthen the client’s hair.
- Optionally, shampoo and rinse hair as part of the service.
Specific Job Requirements
- Prior experience of 3-6 months in a Barber shop/Salon is required.
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Trade certification or an Apprentice registration needs to be completed. Licensed hairstylist within the Glow N Glam Studio will sign the training agreement to register as an apprentice.
- Basic English communication skills required for effective verbal communication with the customers.
