Job Opportunity:
Housekeeper (1 position)
General Cleaning:
• Dusting and polishing furniture and surfaces;
• Vacuuming and/or sweeping floors;
• Mopping and cleaning hard floor surfaces;
• Emptying trash bins and replacing liners;
Bedroom Maintenance:
• Changing bed linens;
• Making beds;
• Organizing and tidying up bedrooms;
Bathroom Care:
• Cleaning and sanitizing sinks, countertops, and vanities;
• Scrubbing and disinfecting toilets, bathtubs, and showers;
• Replacing toiletries and towels as needed;
Kitchen Duties:
• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, including countertops and appliances;
• Washing dishes and kitchenware;
• Organizing pantry and refrigerator;
• Taking care of special kitchen-related tasks as requested (e.g., cleaning ovens, defrosting freezers);
Laundry and Clothing Care:
• Washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothing and linens;
• Managing dry cleaning and delicate items appropriately;
• Organizing closets and drawers;
Organization and Tidying:
• Ensuring overall organization of living spaces;
• Arranging personal items and decorative elements;
• Handling clutter and maintaining a neat appearance;
Outdoor and Special Area Maintenance:
• Sweeping outdoor areas such as patios and entrances;
• Tending to indoor plants;
• Handling specific tasks in specialized areas (e.g., home office, gym, guest rooms);
Security and Confidentiality:
• Maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality;
• Ensuring the security of the residence when the homeowner is away;
Communication:
• Communicating with the homeowner to understand preferences and any specific instructions;
• Reporting any issues or repairs needed in the residence;
Additional Tasks:
• Assisting with event preparation and clean-up;
• Managing deliveries and shipments;
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
• No formal education required;
• Previous experience in the same capacity/related experience is preferred but not required – training/specific instructions will be provided;
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry objects, and perform repetitive tasks;
• Effective communication with employers and other household staff is important for understanding expectations and providing updates on tasks;
• Good English communication skills.
What We Offer:
• Starting rate of pay is $18.00 per hour – Overtime rate applies after 44 hours;
• Work Hours: At least 30 hours per week
• Location of Work: North York, Ontario (exact address will be provided)
