Salary:                       $41.02 per hour–The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.

Other benefits:        Optional group insurance benefits including, medical, dental and eyecare coverage on a cost sharing basis. Company offers contribution of [5%] of the eligible compensation towards the pension account for the retirement savings.

Vacation:                  2 weeks per year

Hours of Work:       37.5 Hours a week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Leads Request for Proposal (RFP) process with all stakeholders
  • Continuously looks for new savings opportunities through analysis of data (spend, purchase price variance, etc.) and hands-on review of materials in the production areas.
  • Lead negotiations and supplier selection
  • Works with suppliers and internal team members to qualify new parts
  • Negotiates key items with suppliers including pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs
  • Records and tracks information as required for timely and accurate measure of performance regarding sourcing activities and savings
  • Support the plants to help local teams efficiently resolve escalated issues
  • Leads Procurement NPD activities through preferred supplier programs and RFQ’s
  • Participate in and represent the Sourcing function during plant or product Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) or Major Model Review (MMR) events. Responsible for collecting and communicating commodity actions following the event.
  • Works with suppliers to address significant and/or systemic issues with performance (quality, delivery, warranty, etc.) as may be required in support of plant Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality teams
  • Work to align strategies between commodity and sector localization, plant rationalization, and similar
  • Identify gaps in goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned and participates in special projects as required.

Specific Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or supply chain management is required.
  • Relevant work experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management is required, ranging from 2 to 5 years is required.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and practices, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Skills in cost analysis and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities in the procurement process.
