Employer:  Mattress to Door Corp.
Position:  Retail Supervisor
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 1-253 Queen St E, Brampton, ON, L6W 2B8
Salary: $22.00 per hour; The gross salary is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Other benefits: Variable performance-based commission
Vacation: Two weeks per year
Hours of Work: 32-44 hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Supervising and leading sales associates, ensuring they provide excellent customer service, meet sales targets, and adhere to store policies and procedures.
  • Training new employees on product knowledge, customer service skills, and sales techniques. Providing ongoing coaching and development opportunities for existing staff to improve performance.
  • Overseeing inventory levels, ensuring stock is properly displayed and replenished, and coordinating with the inventory control team to manage stock levels effectively.
  • Ensuring that furniture displays are visually appealing, well-organized, and regularly refreshed to attract customers and promote sales.
  • Resolving customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and security protocols.
  • Completing paperwork, such as sales reports, staff schedules, and inventory records.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to execute promotional campaigns and events to drive foot traffic and increase sales.
  • Liaising with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any issues or discrepancies.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • 7-12 months experience in a retail or customer service role in a similar product category is required. Supervisory experience in a similar work setting is desired.
  • Effective communication skills in English language are required for interacting with customers, resolving issues, and liaising with other team members and management.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide retail staff effectively.
