Salary: $25.00 per hour–The gross salary paid will be subject to all applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4 % of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 32.0-40.0 Hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administrative procedures and work in different departments for the supporting roles; facilitate administrative support tasks, including meeting planning, calendar establishments, scheduling & confirming appointments & preparing for board meetings, etc.
  • Screening incoming emails, posting and forwarding them to appropriate departments for replies, composing and distributing routine correspondence.
  • Maintain driver’s log according to MTO & DOT regulations. Monitor CVOR and DOT SAFER records regularly.
  • Maintain driver DQ files / check driver’s qualifications/drug test and police report/ driver reference checks.
  • Keep records of incidents and accidents and produce statistics; facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective actions.
  • Act as a professional liaison in case of government agency inspections concerning safety issues.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate records of tractor and trailer maintenance files such as preventive maintenance bills for owner-operator and company units.
  • Reviewing and persistent follow-up on traffic tickets, convictions, and accidents.
  • Regularly monitoring federal and provincial safety regulations to keep current with safety and compliance programs and to implement changes.
  • Efficiently manage documents of all trucks and trailer files with two years of annual in sections and repair bills with attached CVOR in each vehicle file and driver file.
  • Reviewing CVOR, applying and renewing permits, and IRP applications.
  • Analyze and generate reports as needed.
  • Perform other administrative and general tasks as they arise.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Minimum 7-12 months administrative experience is required.
  • Familiarity or ability to understand the current and pending Government Regulations in the industry such as Ministry of Transportation Ontario, Hazmat, Canada Labour Code, U.S. Federal Motor Carrier regulations.
  • Completion of secondary school is required. A college level education in administrative field an asset.
  • Possess an understanding and working knowledge of MS Office suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex information and present it simply and accurately.
  • An investigative mind, Attention to detail.
