Job Title: Automotive painting and refinishing technician

Wage: $28.85 – $30 /hour

Offered benefits: extended health benefits

Terms of Employment: Full-time, permanent (40 hours per week)

Job Duties:

• Review work order and plan work to be performed
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
• Use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills
• Perform all prep work necessary before vehicles are painted (sanding, masking, taping, etc.)
• Mix paint, blend and match colours
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
• Inspect and clean surfaces to ensure paint adhesion and finish quality
• Apply primer and block sand surfaces as needed
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and is completed on time
• Assist in keeping the work area clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices

Employment Requirements/work experience:

• High school certificate

Additional Requirements:

• Min. 6 months experience using HVLP air spray guns and air orbital sanders
• Ability to use PPG paint mixing software
• Ability to read technical manuals and paint codes
