| Salary: | $36.00 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal & Provincial income taxes & other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP. |
| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 32-40 hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Measure and cut drywall, panels or plasterboard to the right sizes and angles for ceiling and walls.
- Fix the Panels to fit around doorways and create opening for windows.
- Prepare panels by sawing, drilling and cutting holes in the panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing.
- Fill joints and cracks with drywall compound using trowel and broad knife and tape over with embed tape for finishing
- Protect exterior corners installing metal corner beads
- Cover nail and screw depressions with spackle.
- Apply successive coats of compound.
- Sand areas and smooth out imperfections and excess material
- Understand site requirements & manage multiple installations.
Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Physically demanding work requires to stand/move or work on areas hard to reach for the entire shift. Must be able to climb the ladder. Hand eye coordination is required.
- Weight handling up to 50 lbs
- Prior work experience of 6-12 months in drywall, panels or plasterboard installation is required.
