Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker to assist a kind female client in her late 60s who is legally blind with other health issues.

This opportunity has become available as the current long-time caregiver will be relocating to another province. To ensure a smooth transition, the new caregiver will receive on-the-job training directly from the outgoing caregiver. We are seeking someone truly special and caring, who can provide both physical assistance and emotional support, becoming a trusted presence in the client’s daily life.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer bedside and personal care
Assist client with safe water activities (e.g., pool)
Support with bathing, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene
Encourage and assist with regular exercise, such as walks
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
Provide personal care and emotional companionship
Prepare and serve nutritious meals based on dietary needs

Requirements:

Education: Minimum secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to less than 7 months (on-site training will be provided)
Language: English
Other:
- Must be comfortable with in-home, non-smoking environment
- Must be physically able to assist with walking and pool entry/exit
- A kind, dependable, and respectful demeanor is essential
- Must be willing to work on-site at the client’s home (Mississauga, ON)

Work Setting:

Work in employer’s/client’s private residence
Non-smoking environment
Full-time, on-site care only (no remote work available)
