Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other baked goods.
• Develop and refine seasonal and specialty dessert recipes.
• Maintain consistency in the quality, taste, and presentation of all pastry items.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations specific to the pastry section.
• Monitor inventory and source high-quality ingredients.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of baking supplies.
• Supervise and mentor pastry assistants and junior bakers.
• Assign duties and manage production schedules to meet demand.
• Train staff in baking techniques and standards for presentation.
• Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Implement food safety protocols to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with executive chefs and management on pastry menu development.
• Monitor costs and ensure efficient, cost-effective production.
• Reduce waste and maintain portion control.
Qualifications:
• Minimum three years of baking experience preferred; prior experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker is highly valued.
• Strong command of baking methods, ingredients, and pastry techniques.
• Able to lift light loads (10-20 lbs).
• Positive, hardworking attitude with strong multitasking abilities.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to meet kitchen goals.
