Position:  Production Maintenance Technician
Duration/Type: Permanent/Full Time
Work Location: 2690 Plymouth Dr, Oakville, ON L6H 6W3
Salary: $50,000 per annum; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 30.00 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that production equipment and machinery are operating efficiently and safely.
  • In conjunction with other members of maintenance department, conduct routine maintenance on production machinery and equipment. This includes inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and repairing machines to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or breakdowns. Identify the root causes of issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Set up and adjust processing and packaging machines.
  • Perform changeover jobs on machines as required.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement equipment upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency, reliability, or safety.
  • Train production operators on basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures to reduce downtime and ensure safety.
  • Coordinating in maintenance of required maintenance spares

Specific Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience, typically 7-12 months, in maintenance, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
  • Experience in diagnosing, processing and trouble shooting injection moulding machines
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance and repair work.
  • Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems is an asset.
  • GMP, HACCP and SQF training and experience is required
  • Requires moderate proficiency in English language.
