QA Lead & Automation Architect

Job Overview

 

  • Define and drive the overall testing strategy and quality assurance roadmap, aligning with project specifications and organizational goals.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage by incorporating functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing in all plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and performance excellence.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations within the QA team to ensure optimal execution and accountability.
  • Oversee the design, documentation, and execution of test procedures and ensure all testing efforts are conducted systematically.
  • Implement and refine testing frameworks, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency, scalability, and quality outcomes.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and produce detailed test reports on quality metrics, test coverage, defect rates, and testing progress.
  • Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Supervise the setup and configuration of software and hardware testing environments, ensuring alignment with real-world operating conditions.
  • Validate readiness of test environments through structured verification procedures before test execution.
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of automation tools and scripting frameworks (e.g., Python, Java, C#) to streamline repetitive test tasks and accelerate validation cycles.
  • Ensure consistent use of test management and defect tracking tools to maintain traceability, accountability, and transparency.
  • Monitor and escalate critical issues, ensuring swift resolution to maintain project momentum.
  • Participate in defect triage sessions, offering root cause analyses and prioritization strategies in alignment with project timelines and business impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including development, operations, and product management—to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine testing approaches and elevate quality standards.
  • Define and enforce testing policies, quality standards, and documentation protocols to ensure consistency and compliance across all testing initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on defect trend analyses, lessons learned, and industry best practices.
  • Champion a culture of quality and accountability within the team and across the organization.

Skills/Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in client management, including addressing client inquiries related to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and automation solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and managing teams, ensuring timely and successful delivery of assigned tasks and projects
  • Proven ability to lead project delivery, including the implementation of change requests and ensuring timely execution
  • Strong expertise in requirements gathering and analysis of ‘As-Is’ business processes
  • Proficient in designing end-to-end or partial RPA solutions based on assessments and proof-of-concepts (POCs)
  • Experience in designing and implementing ‘To-Be’ solutions using RPA tools, including integration with Windows, Citrix, web-based applications, and APIs
  • Skilled in delivering EDI integration files by extracting data from multiple applications using Computer Vision technology
  • Provides post-production support, handling change requests, managing exceptions, and resolving bugs
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth collaboration between onshore and offshore teams
  • Experienced in working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create documentation such as Process Design Documents (PDD) and Solution Design Documents (SDD)
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end RPA implementation across multiple business domains
  • Ability to conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) for evaluating solution feasibility
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite with clients across Canada as needed
