Position:  Shift Leader (Food Service Supervisor)
Duration/Type: Permanent/Full Time
Work Location: 1002 Lawrence Ave W, North York, ON, M6A 1C8
Salary: $17.85 per hour; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.
Other Benefits: Optional group insurance benefits including medical, dental & eyecare coverage on cost sharing basis
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of Work: 35-40 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Supervising and directing the activities of team members during the assigned shift including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring that team members adhere to Wendy’s standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality.
  • Training new employees and providing ongoing coaching and feedback to existing team members to help them improve their performance and develop their skills
  • Operating cash register, handling cash transactions, and reconciling cash drawers at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Allocate work areas to the employees and make sure there is an adequate coverage in each area including kitchen, dine room and drive through.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to Wendy’s policies and procedures, including food safety regulations, health code standards, and company guidelines for employee conduct.
  • Occasionally conduct pre-shift meetings, providing updates on operational issues, and communicating any feedback or concerns to the higher management.
  • Resolve customer complaints and rectify issues to provide highest level of satisfaction.
  • Delegate and ensures all cleaning and secondary duties are completed.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required.
  • 7-12 months experience in food preparation or service is required. Supervisory experience will be considered as an asset
  • Requires good communication skills in English, ability to deal with customers and food service employees.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday.
