Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to develop and maintain customized tools that streamline our operations, improve efficiency, enhance data management, and support better decision-making. Your contributions will lead to cost savings, improved project outcomes, and provide Northstar Wall Systems Ltd. with a competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integration of Project Management Tools: Design and integrate software that enhances project tracking, timelines, and budget control, ensuring smooth coordination across departments.
  • Mobile Application Development: Create mobile-friendly tools for on-site workers to access real-time project data, submit updates, and report issues from the field.
  • BIM Integration: Build or adapt tools to work seamlessly with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, improving design collaboration and construction precision.
  • Automation of Safety Reporting: Develop systems that streamline the reporting and tracking of safety incidents and compliance, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Client and Vendor Portal Development: Create client-facing portals for project tracking and vendor portals for efficient material management and ordering.
  • Optimization of Resource Allocation: Design software that tracks and allocates construction resources (e.g., materials, labor) in real-time, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  • Cybersecurity Solutions: Implement secure software systems to protect sensitive project data, client information, and financial records from cyber threats.
  • Scalability and Growth Support: Develop systems that can scale with the company’s growth, allowing for efficient handling of larger or more complex projects in the future.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a college degree program in computer science or related field;
  • At least 2.5 years of proven experience as a Software Developer, preferably within the construction industry or in a similar industry.
  • Expertise in developing software solutions that support project management, workflow optimization, and construction-specific tools.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, with a focus on developing customized applications.
  • Experience in database management and data analysis, ensuring efficient data handling and reporting for construction operations.
  • Familiarity with construction-related software or platforms, such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), or project management systems.
  • An understanding of the unique software needs of the construction sector, including systems for cost control, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time, permanent position consisting of at least 37.5 weekly work hours;
  • The remuneration will be set at CAD $90,000.00 per annum;
