Responsibilities/Tasks:

Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products
Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions
Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers
Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools
Clean machines and immediate work areas
Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
Load and unload vehicle
Polish metal products to mirror finish
Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools
Set up and adjust production machineries/tools

**Requirements:**
– Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment an asset but not required. Will be trained.
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
– Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods.
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
– Willingness to learn and develop welding skills under the guidance of experienced welders and fitters.
