1000197269 ONTARIO LIMITED is setting up to be an independent South Asian specialty grocery that will target South Asian communities in North Bay and Surrounding areas, with an addition to providing Canadian consumers with everyday convenience and grocery products. Our shop also entails a South Asian take-out / grab and go café which will be a treat for South Asian community in the region. For the management of this store, we are urgently seeking a Store Manager.
The store is located at 165 Main Street East, North bay, Ontario, P1B 1A9. The role is a full-time permanent employment with minimum of 30 hours a week. Store hours from 10 AM to 8 PM on weekdays and 11 AM to 7:30 PM on Weekends. We would require candidates with having availability on flexible hours and can work on multiple shifts and be able to work on weekends.
We believe the ideal candidate should be able to :
– Determine merchandise and services in high demand
– Initiate procurement orders for merchandise
– Draft monthly budget for inventory, payroll, and utilities expenses
– Authorize return of merchandises to the vendor
– Review logs of merchandise return to vendors and merchandise returns by client with the reason
– Order stock and inventory
– Assign daily targets to salespersons for marketing of the new store and arrange resource to facilitate food and stock deliveries to nearby stores
– Supervise the teller, store clerk, retail salespersons, grab and go café cooks and cashiers
– Plan, organize, direct, and control the daily activities with morning huddle with store clerks and employees
– Maintain daily work schedules and ensure availability of sufficient staff at all times
– Receive and record complaints from client and actively seek to mitigate and resolve issues
– Authorize payments for vendor bills, utilities and other necessary expenses and record all the authorize for subject submission to owner on weekly basis
– Hire store clerks, cooks, tellers, and other work employees
– Ensure shelves are adequately filled with inventory and the unopened skids are adequately and safely placed in warehouse
– Provide weekly morning briefing with regards to work safety standards and ensure safety guidance are complied by staff to ensure smooth operations

Although not required, we would highly appreciate candidates having basic experience in short order cooking or an experience in a café / bistro in addition to basic store manager experience. We would encourage candidates even without experience as training will be provided.
Candidate would be required to provide basic security check. The job requires attentiveness to work tasks and hours of walking, standing, and / or sitting. It is a fast-paced work with several customers to be served on daily basis. Candidate is required to be a team player to support colleagues and should be an energetic, hardworking, goal oriented, organized, and flexible person having a positive attitude with having sheer integrity, reliability, and work-related accuracy standards. Lastly, we believe that the role will require basic skills of Microsoft application including MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel applications.

For a minimum academic requirement, we encourage candidates with minimum of high school graduation. Please note that the position is available for Canadian citizens and permanent residents only.
