Key Responsibility of Early Childhood Educator
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- To develop programming based on children’s needs, interests and abilities, and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well being of the children
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioralproblems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Monitor children in indoor and outdoor activities and during rest periods; conduct activities with children on an individual and group basis.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Ensure classroom safety as outlined by Child Care Licensing Regulation; follow proper Centre protocol.
- Ability to problem-solve and respond to concerns of other staff and parents
- Ensures the program operates at all times in compliance with all child care licensing standards
- Plan and organize classroom layout.

Start Date: as soon as possible
Period of employment: permanent
Type of work: Full time
Wage: $ 18-20 /Hourly CAD. Overtime rate will be paid 1.5 times the regular rate if employees work more than 40.00 hours per week.
Work of Hours: 40 hour(s) per week.
Benefits:
- There will be two weeks summer break and two weeks winter break according to the Holiday schedule of Windmill Children’s House Infant/Toddler, and you will receive 4% vacation pay of your gross earnings before each break.
- The province will provide a wage enhancement of $ 2 per hour to eligible front-line Early Childhood Educators. The ECE Wage Enhancement will be paid at the following
Job Requirements
- Completion of an early childhood education certificate program is required.
- Licensing by provincial(BC) Early Childhood Educator registry for early childhood educators (ECE) is required.
- Ability to work on a team basis with other staff members
- Good communication skills; written and verbalin English
- Work independently, self-starter, willingness to learn
- Strong organizational & time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Negative criminal records check.
- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR
- Experience: we will provide the necessary training.
