Job Description

Fishy’s Original Jerk is one of Ottawa’s favorite Caribbean food restaurants, located on St. Joseph Boulevard. The owner has satisfied customers with authentic Caribbean cuisines for over a decade and has recently expanded services based on customer demands. We are looking for a permanent full-time Chef that has sufficient knowledge, experience and the know-how in preparing popular Jamaican dishes for sale at our restaurant. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating and planning menus, preparing and cooking meals, supervising and instructing cooks and other kitchen staff, maintaining costs, sales, consumption, and inventory, among other duties

Job Requirements

• Three years of experience as an experienced Chef or cook making Jamaican/Caribbean items
• Ability to create new recipes
• culinary training certification or equivalent work experience
• Must be physically capable to stand for extended periods, have attention to details and work well under pressure.
• 35 to 40 hours weekly

Personal Suitability
Must be organized, comfortable taking initiative, have the ability to lead and supervise.
