Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Production Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of food production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, controlling inventory, and ensuring efficient daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules and employee duty assignments to ensure efficient workflow and production targets are met.
- Evaluate daily production operations and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to prevent shortages and production interruptions.
- Plan, organize, and oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities.
- Develop equipment maintenance schedules and recommend replacement or upgrades of machinery when necessary.
- Direct and monitor quality control inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate production employees.
- Organize and maintain inventory management systems.
- Plan and implement improvements to machinery, equipment, production systems, and operational methods.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and production costs.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Lead and supervise a production team of more than 20 employees.
Qualifications
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in food production, manufacturing, or a related industry.
Required Certifications
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with:
- Electronic mail applications
- Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Production and inventory management systems
Work Environment
- On-site position; remote work is not available.
- Fast-paced food manufacturing facility located in an urban area.
- Work may involve early morning, morning, and day shifts.
