Carpenter (NOC 7271)
Job Description
- Exterior and interior finish work
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Using measuring tools, prepare layouts in conformance to building codes
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install cabinets, doors, stairs, windows, moulding and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in residences and commercial buildings

Job Requirements
- Secondary (high) school certificate.
- Completion of 3 to 4 year apprenticeship program recommended.
- 2 years experience.
