Building Maintenance Worker

Job Description

We are providers of low-income subsidized housing for seniors. We take great pride in providing a safe, clean, friendly, and comfortable environment for our senior residents. The ideal candidate will add value to the quality of living for this marginalized, vulnerable group. The role will include: overall building maintenance, general repairs in units and throughout the building; make adjustments and minor repairs to plumbing and electrical systems, monitor heating and cooling equipment, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Perform other routine maintenance work such as drywall repair, painting, floor care, and seasonal grounds work. High level of cleaning and disinfecting of entry foyers, laundry room, bathrooms, and common area fixtures. Underground parking garage maintenance including refuse control, power washing, and maintenance of orderliness in the entire area. Seasonal snow removal and salting of walkways and parking areas. Ability to organize and prioritize as work will be executed under minimal supervision. Job duties are client-focused as we strive to ensure a comfortable and safe home environment for our elderly. Occasionally dealing with issues
relating to the end of life therefore the individual must be compassionate, patient, and empathetic.

Job Requirements

• On-Call duties require evenings and overnight
• 1-2 years of experience working as a maintenance worker in an elderly home
• Must be able to live on-site
• Must commit to a 24-month contract
• Must be able to speak clear English
• High School Completion
