| Vacation: | 4% of the gross salary |
| Hours of Work: | 35-44 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week |
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast menu items such as eggs, sandwiches, wraps, hash browns, soups, and other fast-food items according to company recipes and food safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, toasters, fryers, and food preparation machines safely and efficiently.
- Portion, assemble, and package food orders to ensure consistency, quality, and timely service during busy breakfast hours.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, cooking temperatures, and presentation to maintain company standards.
- Replenish food supplies and ingredients in cooking and service areas during operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, storage areas, and workstations in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Store food properly and rotate stock following FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures.
- Assist in receiving and organizing food deliveries and report shortages or damaged products to supervisors.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe food handling and cleanliness standards.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, cashiers, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient customer service and smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties, including setup, cleaning, and equipment shutdown procedures.
Specific Job Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- 3-6 months experience in food preparation, fast food, kitchen helper, line cook, or related food service positions is required.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques, safe food handling procedures, and kitchen sanitation standards is required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during busy breakfast and peak service hours.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, toasters, and food preparation machines safely and efficiently.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Basic communication skills in English Language are required.
