Wage: $22-24/hour or commission, whichever is higher

Job Duties:

The esthetician plays an important role in delivering thoughtful, results-driven skin care treatments and a high standard of client care at Mint Day Spa. This role includes advanced medical esthetic services, customized facial treatments, laser services, and participation in daily spa operations.

The position requires strong clinical skill, professional consultation, consistent treatment execution, and contribution to client retention, retail performance, and individual practice growth within Mint. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates.

Key responsibilities include:

Skin, Laser & Esthetic Services

• Perform laser hair removal in compliance with BC safety standards and Alma Soprano Ice protocols.
• Perform microneedling using the MicroPen Evo in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and Mint protocols.
• Deliver Serene chemical peels, GlyMed and Éminence facials, and relaxation-based facial services.
• Incorporate designated facial massage techniques, including Rosemary Head Massage add-on and Éminence Hungarian Facial Massage, in accordance with Mint protocols.
• Utilize esthetic devices (microcurrent, ultrasound, skin scrubber, high frequency) based on clinical assessment and contraindications.
• Perform lash lifts and lash tints in accordance with Mint treatment protocols and hygiene standards.
• Conduct required consultations and obtain informed consent for advanced treatments.
• Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation.
• Provide appropriate post-care instructions and home care recommendations.
• Recommend rebooking and retail products to support treatment outcomes.
• Operate all equipment safely and follow Mint’s disinfection and sanitation protocols in compliance with BC health standards.

Client Relations & Booking Management

• Manage personal booking schedule to minimize gaps and maintain booking accuracy in accordance with calendar management policies.
• Communicate scheduling changes promptly to the front desk and Spa Coordinator, using the Reception Memo document when required.
• Maintain professional client communication using Mint’s designated phone and email systems only.
• Support client retention through consistent service, follow-up where appropriate, and clear treatment planning.

Practice Development

• Promote services and availability to support a sustainable and growing client base.
• Participate in marketing initiatives, promotions, service launches, and seasonal campaigns as directed.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across all treatment lines.
• Take ownership of key performance metrics, including prebooking rate, retail-to-service ratio, and client retention.

Spa Operations & Scheduling Expectations

• Prepare and reset treatment rooms in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Restock linens and treatment supplies as required.
• Assist with laundry and sani-room disinfection during short scheduling gaps.
• Support team operations during peak periods or operational needs.

Training & Development

• Participate in in-house and external training programs.
• Attend product and device education sessions.
• Contribute to protocol refinement when required or inspired.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Employment Requirements/ Work Experience:

• Esthetician diploma or medical esthetician diploma
• 2-3 years experience working as esthetician or medical esthetician
• Strong clinical knowledge and consultation skills
• Strong communication and client care abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Flexibility to assist during peak periods or operational needs
