Translink Shipping Canada Inc. is seeking a strategic and experienced Freight Traffic Supervisor (NOC 12013) to oversee and coordinate transportation logistics operations, supervise shipping staff, and ensure the smooth movement of freight and cargo. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing shipping procedures, monitoring operational performance, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Job Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of freight coordinators, shipping clerks, and logistics support staff
  • Develop and implement transportation and logistics procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Monitor freight movement, shipping schedules, and cargo tracking to ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, and clients regarding shipment arrangements
  • Review shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and transportation records for accuracy and compliance
  • Resolve transportation, shipment, and customer service issues in a timely manner
  • Train staff on company procedures, transportation regulations, and safety standards
  • Establish work schedules and assign duties to logistics personnel
  • Monitor operational performance and prepare logistics and transportation reports
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and customs requirements
  • Coordinate maintenance and efficient use of logistics software, computer systems, and office equipment
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, transportation providers, and overseas partners

Requirements

  • A college diploma or post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping coordination, logistics, or transportation operations is required
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures and customs documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics/shipping software
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
