Production Worker

Steven Karr established Pride Pak Canada Ltd. (“Pride Pak”) in 1984 to meet Canada’s growing demand for high-quality, healthy, and convenient fresh food products. Today, Pride Pak operates Canada’s largest fresh fruit and vegetable processing facility in Mississauga. In 2006, Pride Pak Nfld. Ltd. opened a second facility to process fresh fruit and vegetables for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Our production areas are refrigerated to approximately 5°C (40°F), and employees must dress appropriately for these conditions. Employment opportunities are available on day, afternoon, and night shifts. Some positions may require weekend work.

Production Worker, 2 Positions

Job Duties

• Process raw produce and move products throughout the warehouse and production area.
• Wash and clean fruits and vegetables in preparation for peeling and processing.
• Feed cleaned produce into processing machines for cutting.
• Assist machine operators in ensuring machine specifications are set accordingly based on product requirements.
• Pack produce into bags and other containers and organize by product.
• Check products and packaging for basic quality defects.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties, as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• No formal education requirements.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience in food production, food processing, manufacturing, or a related production environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to work in refrigerated conditions at approximately 5°C (40°F).
• Ability to work day, afternoon, night, and weekend shifts, as required.
• Additional on-the-job training will be provided.

Compensation and Employment Conditions

• Hourly wage: $19.25 per hour
• Hours of work: 30 to 40 hours per week
• Day, afternoon, and night shifts available
• Weekend work may be required
• Overtime pay will be provided in accordance with applicable employment standards
