Position

Ready Mix Truck Driver

Job Duties

  • Operate and drive a ready-mix concrete truck to transport and deliver concrete to residential, commercial, and industrial construction sites.
  • Safely operate the truck’s drum, hydraulic controls, and chute system to unload concrete according to customer and project specifications.
  • Monitor concrete consistency during transport and delivery to help maintain product quality.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical defects or maintenance requirements.
  • Complete delivery tickets, driver logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, plant personnel, contractors, and customers to coordinate deliveries and address site conditions.
  • Clean the mixer drum, chutes, and related equipment after each delivery to maintain equipment and prevent concrete buildup.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance or repair requirements.
  • Comply with all applicable transportation regulations, company policies, and occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing the company at delivery sites.

Job Requirements

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Valid Ontario AZ or DZ driver’s licence.
  • Clean driver’s abstract and satisfactory driving record.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience operating ready-mix concrete trucks or similar heavy commercial vehicles.
  • Previous experience delivering ready-mix concrete is preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and construction site safety practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Employment Conditions

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Wage: $37.00 per hour.
  • Work is performed primarily outdoors at construction sites and concrete plants.
  • Early morning starts, overtime, and occasional weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
  • Work involves travelling to multiple customer and construction sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise associated with construction and concrete production environments.
