Description of company:

The Wax Bench is a ski and bike store based in Revelstoke, British Columbia. Starting out as a ski tuning shop, the store has expanded considerably over the last 11 years of operation.  Repair services consist of winter based ski tuning and year-round bike tuning. Rental activities comprises of a kids seasonal rental program as well as high end ski and snowboard rentals.  Winter ski retail sales are supported by a demo rental fleet operated by the rental department. Summer and winter retail sales now form the larger part of total operations.  The Wax Bench has remained service-focused though this transition and is now looking to build a management team to maintain service while growing retail operations.

Job Title: Retail/Service Writer Supervisor (NOC 62010)

Wage: $23 /hour

Offered benefits: staff purchasing on ski and bike equipment

Terms of Employment: Full-time, permanent (33-35 hours per week)

Job Duties:

• Oversee daily operations of retail and service writing staff
• Train, mentor and supervise retail employees
• Create and manage staff schedules to meet business demand
• Assign tasks and monitor team performance
• Resolve customer complaints
• Assist customers in selecting products
• Maintain accurate records of customer service transactions and product inventory
• Ensure accuracy of service writing, including customer details and service requirements
• Upsell and cross-sell products/services to increase revenue and enhance customer experience
• Monitor and run reports to manage inventory levels, ordering supplies when necessary
• Ensure store displays are well-maintained and appealing to customers
• Process sales transactions, complete cash outs, and ensure POS system accuracy

Employment Requirements/work experience:

• Minimum 2.5 years experience in a retail and service environment specializing in ski or bike equipment
  • Must have at least 3 seasons experience in a ski shop
  • Must have at least 2 seasons experience in a bike shop
• Ski and Bike service writing experience
• Ski rental experience
• Ability to supervise 3 staff members

Additional Requirements:

• Fluent in English
• Strong communication skills
• Must Be Computer literate
  • Microsoft experience required
  • Canva experience is an advantage
• Lightspeed Retail POS experience – Associate level user experience required
  • Lightspeed Retail POS Admin or Manager level experience an advantage
• Problem solving and conflict resolution
• High attention to detail
