Job Overview
Software Project Manager
- Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
- Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
- Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
- Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
- Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
- Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
- Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients.
- Identifying and developing new opportunities with clients.
- Obtaining customer acceptance of project deliverables.
- Managing customer satisfaction within the project transition period.
- Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
- Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices.
- Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
- Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
- Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements.
- Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing.
- Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team.
- Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials.
Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software product or project management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage cross-functional teams
- In-depth knowledge of product strategy, road mapping, and delivery
- Strong analytical and creative thinking skills; ability to develop and assess product ideas
- Proficiency in gathering and translating complex requirements into detailed specifications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong planning and organizational skills; experience managing multiple timelines and deliverables
- Ability to coordinate product release processes and cross-team alignment
- Willingness to travel and work onsite with clients across Canada as needed
