Software Project Manager

  • Coordinating with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
  • Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.
  • Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients.
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities with clients.
  • Obtaining customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Managing customer satisfaction within the project transition period.
  • Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
  • Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
  • Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements.
  • Planning and organizing demos and product/system testing.
  • Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team.
  • Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software product or project management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage cross-functional teams
  • In-depth knowledge of product strategy, road mapping, and delivery
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills; ability to develop and assess product ideas
  • Proficiency in gathering and translating complex requirements into detailed specifications
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; experience managing multiple timelines and deliverables
  • Ability to coordinate product release processes and cross-team alignment
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite with clients across Canada as needed
