Construction Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary

We offer concrete and precast projects to our customers. We are looking for a construction equipment mechanic with skilled trade skills to add value and efficiency to our work. We pride ourselves on delivering first-class products and excellent workmanship, and we need a construction labourer who will help maintain our standards and perform the role’s duties well.

Job Duties

• Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Check bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
• May perform repair work on heavy trucks

Job Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in mechanical trade
• Ability to work in hot or cold weather and a noisy environment
• Ability to communicate in English – Written and oral
• At least 3 years of mechanical equipment work experience
