Electrical Engineering Design Technologist

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities 

• Prepare and develop 2D drawings and 3D models of electrical control panels using AutoCAD software. 
• Create, review, and revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical drawings based on project specifications and customer requirements. 
• Assist in the design and drafting of industrial electrical control systems under the guidance of senior engineers. 
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and production personnel to ensure design accuracy and project compliance. 
• Update and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle. 
• Review drawings and designs to identify inconsistencies, errors, or opportunities for improvement to support efficient manufacturing and assembly processes. 
• Incorporate design changes, client feedback, and project revisions into engineering documentation and drawings. 
• Ensure electrical drawings and designs comply with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and company procedures. 
• Support project execution by providing technical drafting assistance and responding to design-related inquiries. 
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering and drafting processes. 

Specific Job Requirements  

• Minimum two years of experience in electrical drafting, electrical design support, control panel design, industrial automation systems is required. 
• Experience preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and technical drawings using CAD software is required. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Inventor, and Revit is required. 
• Experience preparing and maintaining BOMs, technical drawings, and project documentation. 
• Completion of 2-3 year college program in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or a related field is required. 
• Knowledge of electrical control panels, industrial automation systems, and electrical drafting principles. 
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. 
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. 
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
