Position Details
Position: Automotive Mechanic
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Wage: $36.60 per hour
Hours: 30–44 hours per week
Vacancies: 1
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Location: On-site – Fort St. John, BC
Qualifications
- Other trades certificate or diploma
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
- Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- WHMIS Certificate
- Valid driver’s licence
- Able to drive a manual transmission vehicle
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair automotive mechanical systems
- Adjust, repair or replace automotive parts and components
- Repair commercial transport truck and truck-trailer systems
- Perform engine, electrical and electronic system diagnostics
- Test and adjust repaired systems according to manufacturer specifications
- Perform scheduled maintenance services
- Review work orders and prepare reports on completed repairs
- Estimate parts and labour requirements
- Advise customers regarding completed work and future maintenance needs
- Provide professional customer service
