Job Summary

The Plastic Products Assembler and Finisher, under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible to roll spray material and fibreglass in a uniform manner at the required pace and will also be responsible for plant maintenance and cleaning throughout and at the end of the day.

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards
  • Roll out spray material on acrylic shell to achieve uniformity, proper adherence and good appearance, using due care to prevent breakage
  • Grind or polish surfaces using abrasive tools
  • Transport raw materials, parts, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually
  • Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times
  • Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
  • Mark, record, and report defective products
  • Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of the day
  • Help with  end-of-day plant clean-up
  • Fill in when needed on various jobs

Job Requirements

  • At least High School Completion, preferably
  • At least one year of working experience, preferably
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
  • Dedication to safety measures and best practices
  • Knowledge of tool and equipment safety
  • Knowledge of workplace safety legislation and safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
  • Knowledge and understanding of WHMIS required
  • Must be able to understand and communicate in English (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment

Work Conditions

  • Repetitive work
  • Extended periods of standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and other physically demanding conditions
  • Lifting, moving, or manipulating bulky and heavy objects with required assistance
  • The environment may be extremely busy and noisy.  The temperature will fluctuate throughout the plant and will vary from cool to hot and humid.
  • Exposure to hazards associated with the industry
  • Use of required personal protective equipment
  • Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
  • Attendance and participation in training
