Home Support Worker

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker to assist a male client in his late 50s to early 60s with limited mobility. The client has been diagnosed with hypertension and poorly controlled diabetes, requiring attentive and knowledgeable care. He is also a falls risk and need constant companion to ensure his safety.

Location: Toronto, Ontario
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance, etc.)

• Administer prescribed medications on schedule

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with the client’s specific dietary needs

• Monitor and record blood sugar and blood pressure levels regularly

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Perform light housekeeping tasks related to the client’s care

• Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Home Support Worker or similar role preferred

• Knowledge of managing diabetes and hypertension care

• Ability to prepare nutritious meals following a diabetic-friendly diet

• Certified in First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)

• Ability to work independently and responsibly

• Must be legally able to work in Canada

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Additional Information: The client’s wife operates a full-time restaurant business and requires a dependable caregiver to support her husband’s daily care needs during her absence.
